Thoughts Unboxed is a modern approach to the traditional game night. What started as a random idea from the creator, Wesley Weston (Mr. Wes), then turned into a physical concept in 2019.  

The title of this game stems from meanings behind common phrases, such as, “Elaborate,” or, “Can you explain what you mean?,” or, “That doesn’t make sense.” Specifically, participants are encouraged to dive deeper into the questions that do not always get asked and answered out loud. This game offers the opportunity for players to combine the essence of game nights and friend gatherings and to share real life experiences, interesting perspectives, and a difference of opinions – Now, that is what we call COMMUNITY.

The best feature of the game is its simplicity. The rules are clear and concise and enable the players to execute the game in the same manner and in any location or venue. Also, this game has a very current and modern approach to traditional game nights. Thoughts Unboxed bridges the gap between casual conversation, enlightening opinions, and a good time. Also, it asks questions that might cross your mind, but maybe you are ashamed to ask. So now, you can blame your Unboxed Thoughts on the game! 

At his core, Mr. Wes is a fun person to be around. He has the God-given ability to bring different crowds together and ensures that everyone is not only heard, but also has a good time with other community members.  

Mr. Wes is a southern transplant who now lives in Washington, D.C. Still considered a newbie in the gaming world, having spent most of his life working in politics and in the world of entertainment, he first discovered the genre of gaming when he obtained his Event Management Certification and Project Management Certification from George Washington University in 2012 and in 2017. While attending a cabin retreat, he engaged in a discussion with friends about how they were uninterested and disappointed with the current selection of board and card games. Most of the crowd felt that the games were either outdated or not in touch with the current society or with the African American culture. Mr. Wes acquired his knowledge of gaming from both the leader and participant perspective by combining his sizeable social network and the experience he has earned from being a part of multiple game nights. Moreover, he is often the one asking the deep and shady questions to better understand the perspectives of others and to allow others to feel heard and seen.
